I Love Sarah Palin

Wow, I think a little part of the donkey inside me just died. Because I do not mean this sarcastically. Surprisingly, I have a great amount of respect for Palin, even though we have severely different opinions on quite a few things.

Like abortion, equal pay, etc.

But other than that, and her lack of experience (nice job on the hypocrisy, McCain), I kind of like her. She signed the bill which allowed the construction of a natural gas pipeline in Alaska, which I would normally be against. But... I did research. And concluded that it was a nice piece of legislation (I won't tell you why... do your own research).

Besides that, she isn't completely in favor of abstinence only sex-ed, which I thought. McCain is, which is why I'm still totally voting against him. But this blog isn't about him. Also, despite being a Democrat, I'm mostly pro-gun. So that isn't a major issue with me, but I can fully understand that other Democrats would despise her for that.

The only problems I have with her are GLBT rights and her anti-choice stance. For instance, she believes that abortion should be completely banned except in cases where the mother's life is in danger (which, ironically, is the only pro-abortion stance I can somewhat respect*). She also believes that intelligent design should be taught in public schools. Enough said.

So, while I do not support the Republican decision to name her VP (for sexist reasons), I respect her as a person.

BJ already ranted on McCain, but I felt that I should mention some good stuff about Palin to supplement it. Because I still despise McCain.

*By this, I am referring to the fact that she does not support abortion in cases of rape. I consider that extremely hypocritical, since the main reasoning behind the pro-life argument is "it's a baby", and under that argument then a baby conceived out of rape is the same as any other baby.

I feel I should be commended for not mentioning the pregnancy issue, which was very hard considering the talk about it. ((I'll do a blog on that, but it'll take a few days because my computer is dying piece-meal.))

I Hate Ann Coulter

Disclaimer: I've never actually read any of Ann Coulter's books, but I can imagine the sheer torture.

OK, I wanted to tone this rant down a bit... then I realized that Ann Coulter was a hypocritical bitch who deserves to burn in the bottom most pits of hell for eternity.

That wasn't too harsh, was it?

Moving on. Let's examine a few of Ann Coulter's books: Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right;Godless: The Church of Liberalism; How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must): The World According to Ann Coulter; and The New Ann Coulter (which, ironically, comes out in November. Yeah, whatever, so what if she likes to dis liberals? Hell, I even like to dis liberals sometimes. But seriously, there's something wrong with the fact that she's made an entire career out of putting down others. (specifically the Democratic Party).

I also like how she makes all liberals out to be these Godless, baby-killing, raping sex monsters. What right does she have to do that? What a person does in the privacy of their own home is no one else's business!!! Besides that, quite a few people involved in my high school's Young Democrats club are Christian (and therefore not "Godless"). She also makes fun of our morals. You know, the whole "be nice to people" crap. Apparently, believing in God is all that's important... it doesn't matter if you're a total douchebag.

On that subject, I do admire the fact that she's not hypocritical about her personality. She admits that she's a bitch (though I completely disagree with her idea that being nice is not a part of being Christian).

So, basically, Ann Coulter sucks ass. Although I'm probably biased, since I tend to automatically take offense to anything Republicans say. Here's a (common) conversation between a Republican and myself:

Republican: The sky is pretty today.

TS: NO IT'S NOT! ARE YOU FREAKIN' BLIND? The sky is DISGUSTING today!

Republican: But, there are no clouds or anything, and it's sunny...

TS: YOU KNOW NOTHING!

(Um, I was kidding about the whole "privacy of your own home" stuff, by the way. We liberals aren't that bad, I promise.)

Also, I actually like a lot of Republicans... I swear I'm not a hypocrite. I just like making fun of them.
